“I was ashamed of myself when I realized that life was a costume party, and I attended with my real face” Franz Kafka

Franz Kafka, a renowned figure in literature, is best known for his distinctive style and exploration of complex themes such as alienation, existentialism, and bureaucracy. His writing could be looked at as surreal, absurd and borderlines insane.

You may have heard the term "Kafkaesque" which refers to situations or experiences that are reminiscent of the themes, style, or atmosphere found in his books.

His works often depict characters facing surreal and nightmarish situations, inviting readers to reflect on the complexities of human existence and the challenges of navigating modern society.

This matters to us as traders. Especially in the age of fake perceptions though social media, filters and whatever else. People are obsessed with perception. People are terrified of imperfection. People are terribly afraid to be vulnerable. I see tons of people getting stuck on not trying things because they made mistakes in their past?

You can NOT become better or great at something without failure. More succinctly without being willing to fail.

Be confident but also be real. As a real person you can say things like “I am a great systematic trader” or “I have a grip on my mental state” and stay away from things that a book would tell you to say like “I get every trader right” or “I can call tops and bottoms” or “I need to follow what this person is doing they get every trade right”.
