Technology is leading the way.
In the book 1984 Orwell describes how a totalitarian government abuses technology for its own ends instead of exploiting its knowledge to improve civilization. He argued that the impact of technology would tend to reinforce power structures rather than to undermine them.
I can say that there are very good things about technology but there are also bad things about it. Which is just like everything else in this world.
Orwell’s “telescreen” was based on the television pioneered prior to WWII and could hardly be seen as science fiction. In the 30s Germany had a working videophone system in place, and television programs were already being broadcast in parts of the United States, Great Britain and France.

I am obsessed with understanding why people do terrible things.
I am weird (not in the sense of being unique or special, just abnormal) , so it is hard for me to understand most people, I also had an uncle who was as well. “Since we are on the subject of WW2.” When he was keeping the trains running in the US during that time he was told to take the Japanese and put them in internment camps. He thought that it was insane to lock up anyone who has done nothing wrong. He refused an order and was discharged because of it. Growing up, I thought this was normal and as I got older and lived though 9/11 I realized that it was extraordinary. Most people are happy to follow authority.
The Milgram experiments, conducted by psychologist Stanley Milgram in the 1960s, investigated the extent to which people would obey authority figures, even when instructed to perform actions conflicting with their personal conscience. Participants, believing they were administering electric shocks to a learner for incorrect answers, were willing to deliver increasingly severe shocks under the direction of an authoritative experimenter. The results revealed a high level of obedience to authority, with a majority of participants continuing to administer shocks despite the apparent distress of the learner, highlighting the powerful influence of authority on human behavior.
We have more information then we have ever had before. More analysts, more shows, more, more, more! However understand that most of these people are trying to be authority figures who are selling you a product. As technology grows, your ability to unplug from it all becomes of the upmost importance.
Because there are bad things about it, does not mean that it is all bad. It does not mean that it is not trade able.
We did get that nice bounce off of the 200 day or 40 week MA that we were looking for. I do think energy has more upside but a close below that zone would mean that it is time to rethink this idea.
AUDJPY with SPY below it. Look, I know everyone is saying how this rally is long in the tooth. It absolutely looks that way but I think the bull still has legs.
Dow seasonality-Keep in mind that the summer will be volatile. We will see a lot of chop, a lot of thin rallies and frustration. Remember, this is what sets up an end of the year rally.
Does this trend look bearish to anyone?
What about this one? I feel like I am giving an eye exam. LOL.
VIX cycle. swing traders could continue to buy the vix when it hits lows. between 11 and 12 dollars on the cash VIX and looking to sell this right before the election.
The equal weight SPX has underperformed drastically lately. However, when we see major periods of correlation, we usually see a period where breadth widens and the equal weight SPX or RSP head higher.
Bitcoin-I am not one for trend line breaks but this is interesting. Support levels are much more important but we need to pay attention to bitcoin here. Can it make a new high? Time will tell.
Commodities against Bonds-Still in an uptrend but momentum is waning. On watch!
With the way everyone is talking about gold you would think it is crashing, however, we are consolidating for a move higher.
The tech mania continues. Largest inflow ever.
